10,000 REASONS (BLESS THE LORD) was written by Matt Redman and Jonas Myrin in what is known in song writer's realm as a "spontaneous moment." It takes some somgs several weeks and perseverance to come together, while others are surprisingly quick.


When Jonas began playing a chorus melody he was working on, Matt was immediately inspired to words from the opening of Psalm 103. In this psalm, King David lists several reasons why his heart is full of worship for God! The number 10,000 echoes the verse in the John Newman hymn, "Amazing Grace," that talks about the 10,000 years.


This song has received several awards including a Grammy for Best Contemporary Christian Music Song (2013) and Song of the Year at the 2013 Gospel Music Association Dove Awards.
